FITNESS WAREHOUSE was established in January 1982 when the two time Hall of Fame athlete and Olympic coach Bob Muñoz became the Universal Gym Equipment dealer for Puerto Rico.  The following year the Precor USA dealership was added along with a couple of lines of accessories.  In the beginning, the dealership operated out of Bob’s health club in the Consolidated Mall Shopping Center in Caguas, but within 2 years, business expanded and warehouse and office space were required for inventory, service, repairs, and sales.  It was then that Bob moved the operation to the industrial area of the same mall complex and opened the first fitness equipment showroom in Puerto Rico.  He also changed the name of the business to FITNESS WAREHOUSE and subsequently added more equipment lines like Vectra Fitness, Amerec Steams and Saunas and Monark bikes.  In 1989 Bob moved the showroom and offices to the  Piñero Avenue location in San Juan where he continued to expand the business adding exclusive and prestigious lines such as Body Masters, Cybex, Vision Fitness, Intellbell,  Ivanko Barbell, Polar, Tuff Stuff, Gerstung, Versa Climber, and Schiek.

In Septiembre 2006, after 17 years at its Piñero location, FITNESS WAREHOUSE consolidated all of its operations under 1 roof and moved to their warehouse location at Highway No. 1 near La Muda in Guaynabo to better serve their customers.  With its large showroom, executive and sales offices, service department and inventory, FITNESS WAREHOUSE is the most complete distributor of high end equipment for both commercial and home use in the Caribbean.
